LISTEN: Betty Who debut EP The Movement

The Movement Betty Who

Haven’t heard of Betty Who? Chances are you will soon. 2013 will be a breakout year for the Australian singer-songwriter. After the release of her first EP things are going to happen very quickly for her. The EP is a triumph of independent production, it sounds big and expensive while actually being recorded while unsigned (by choice). She’s going to have label offers coming at her thick and fast

The infectious lead single ‘Somebody Loves You’ lays down an 80s beat complete with synth drums and a Flashdance-inspired video. The whole EP actually has an 80s vibe to it, but with a lick of modern 2010s production value. ‘You’re In Love’ is instantly catchy with an unstoppable drive. Then there’s the Feist-like ‘Right Here’. Beautiful and eerie, the track proves that Betty Who is capable of more than just an 80s dance production with a killer hook. ‘High Society’ has hints of New Order and is again, catchy and amazing, kind of like if Lorde was mixed with an electronic keyboard.

I’m really loving the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A number of my blog readers have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox. Do you have any tips to help fix this problem?

What do you think?
